What We're Reading!

Dear Polar Bear . . . by Barry Ablett - review
by Mrs. Beach
- This is a great book about a polar bear and all the ways
his friends help him make his house happier and cozier.
- I really liked this book. It helped us learn about
bears, maps, and writing letters.

Junie B., First Grader Shipwrecked by Barbara
Scott - review by Brooklyn, 2007
- This book is about a first grader named Junie B. Jones.
It tells about her class play and how it turns out to be a disaster.
- I liked this book alot. It was very funny.

Bats at the Beach by Brian Lies - review by Mrs.
Beach
- I am so excited about this new book! It has
awesome illustrations and the bats are very silly. I like the way the bats are
almost like people. They use "moontan" lotion, roast their own kind of
marshmallows and build sand castles.
- I liked it because it's the perfect book to read - at
the beach!

America Is . . . by Louise Borden - review by
Mrs. Beach
This book is about our
wonderful country. It tells about our 50 states and our flag. It also has
beautiful pictures about all of the different kinds of things you can see if you travel
around the United States. It tells about farms and cities, mountains and valleys, deserts
and beaches, and all sorts of people.
I liked it because it
shows us the many reasons we can be proud to live in a country that stands for freedom.

Grace's Letter to Lincoln by Peter and Connie
Roop - review by Cassie, 2006
- It is about a girl who wrote a letter to Lincoln about
growing a beard.
- I liked it because it was about a little girl like me.
It taught me more about the president and the war and it is a true story.
